Well, by hearing the word "Shrike", my mind goes to this:

I have Vivian Meazza's Seafire IIa from the SpitfireVb combo from a few years back, in addition to a SeaHurricane, and Vivian's unreleased Hawker Tempest V, all with JSB flight models. There's also a Mustang Mk1A, although it's merely a YASim.FDM.
...don't make me release the Do-435.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dornier_Do_435 I know this would make JWocky happy.

Yeah, I want it too, but not enough time to finish it, and not feeling inclined.

Funny, when I think of the Shrike I think of SAAB's last of their 850 cc Model 96 the lifetime guaranteed Shrike engine.

Okay, we are all doomed anyway because
5000ft @145 knots
Fw-190 economical 17500 ft@255 knots
Bf-109 economical 17500 ft@250 knots
BF-110 economical 15500 ft@180 knots
Spitfire economical 20000ft@180 knots
P-38 economical 19000 ft@275 knots
P-51 economical 19000 ft@315 knots
Zero economical 16500 ft@180 knots
Hellcat economical 16000 ft@185 knots
The Zero, Hellcat and P-51 with their enormous ranges can stand a fuel waste flight and the P-51 can maybe make it all the way with flaps out, but the Europeans are in deep trouble. The only exception would be the Hurricane which actually had economical cruise speeds of roughly 160 knots, only not really at 5000ft, rather at 180000ft.
So, except for the explicit Pacific long range fighters, none of the WWII birds will make it. Not even nearly. What now?

OK. then all that is my mistake
I guess instead of being doomed, we just climb and speed
Does it seem these crafts can keep up at 15500 for 185 KTS?
