Re: KSFO
Is the second shot (KHAF?) with osm-pylons? Check the mid-right side of the shot.

You know after reading about the mailing listed FG initializing problem with Mac users, and the latest nightly, that involved someone substituting 'curly quotes' for 'straight quotes', nothing ever surprises me any more about what kind of bolloxing can be done at the coding level in this sim.
Nope, just another day in the Wild West Show known as FlightGear.

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Re: KSFO
Have you been smoking something again d-echo? Else you could see that:
1) Terrasync people say rigorously: we do not accept changes in the grounds around airports.
2) Next other people say, fine, then we do it in terragit
3) Suddenly now point 1) is happening in terrasync.
So terrasync people have learned. That is a positive in my book.
Kind regards, Vincent

Re: KSFO
say again?
1. terrasync has KHAF flooded
2. terraGIT forks flooded KHAF
3. terraGIT fixes the flood on KHAF overuling the "you can patch terrain" blockade
4. terrasync fixes KHAF, after that, with better landclasses (source unkown/undistributed)
5. terraGIT takes terrasync improvements
Currently, using terraGIT and terrasync in KSFO is no different content. It does not mean that TS has been better all along. Ultimately for terraGIT does not matter, as we ship the better content. If the content in Terrasync is improved, and better, well terraGIT will take that content. It's good for us
All I am saying is that the fact that terrasync fixed the KHAF issue way after terrasync, proofs a couple of things:
1. the terrain can be fixed. They are willing to ignore the problem with continental patching everyonce in a while...
2. I dont know how they judge if its ok here, but not there. If the rule is :no continental patch: then this fix on KSFO must not be applied
(but again, they were kind of forced out of the correctives applied in terraGIT
3. So, again my call on this is that we (the FG community) benefit additionally of terraGIT in the sense that we make the developers and maintainers of terrasync more prone to make improvements instead of sitting of the content unimproved for too long.
Without a terraGIT, I doubt, they would have changed their posture of
":nothing can be done to fix this or that until WS3 comes"
Well... no they had proof they can. Just it seems all along this time they just did not want to.
I am sorry, to be a voice of dissent, and to push them to do a better job. But not really. I am glad, they are moving along, and doing a better job, now.

Agreed. You are just being snarky, and ignore logic and reasoning
But if terrasync is better now how is that an advantage of Terragit?
Like in KSFO? terrasync is not better than terraGIT right now. They have identical contents.
OK. I'll agree with you, terrasync content looks much better elsewhere, too.
I'll leave with that. It does not translate that I cant have terraGIT thou.
