Interestingly...
Both it0uchopods and skyboat are joining in the McDonnell XP-67 Moon-bat; A prototype interceptor developed at the end of WWII that never saw mass production or combat.
Here is a pic:
I'm updating the confirmed aircraft list. I just pushed the improvements over the FGMEMBERS repository
Yeah until I know otherwise, I'd like to take the Tempest, but it's unknown EULA statu,s and it's got some FDM issues to fix.

The P40 is flying better is anyone has not picked a plane I have been flying it and keeping Helija working on it. It should get another FDM update here shortly.

If you are doing the YASim version of it I have a good working engine/propeller .xml segment.

Whatever you do, don't land at KCDW. They've let the forest take over an otherwise perfectly good airport.

Hey all-- Love that picture of the XP-67 that Josh found. I, too, will be flying it tomorrow in the Tour. I made a few tweaks to make it more flyable, gave it larger fuel tanks and adjusted the ballast so it could actually fly the distance of the legs, and added radios, a DME and a VOR glideslope indicator on the instrument panel. I know, it's not historically accurate, but a bunch of the guages are just decals and so the whole cockpit needs a do-over.
