Tested today, and the MD-90 can take off and land at both airports.

WTF411 will be taking the MD-90 in Blue1 Star Alliance livery.

If anyone else takes it: I use a 1.51EPR takeoff, flaps 15. Landing, flaps 40, 136kts, retard ~25ft. with 1.22EPR reverser, and autospoilers, and heavy breaking, I stopped just short of the end of the runway.

Haha

Josh is now nominated for the Willy, Prize for outstanding Crazyness
http://thejabberwocky.net/viewforum.php?f=39

Now, onto the numbers, this is what I read:
http://www.planeandpilotmag.com/article ... s-md80-90/
PERFORMANCE:
Max cruise 500 kts.
Long range cruise 440 kts.
Ceiling 35,000+.
Range 1,563-2,630 nm.
Takeoff distance 7,250.
Landing distance 4,860.

Cited in other references as the equivalent 1600m

So, yeah! Landing the MD90 in CYCY's 3500 ft shows that
1) you are an accomplished pilot of that bird and
2) you are nominated to the Willy

Looking forward to catch your landing on the event this 10/1 :P

I did it overweight too...

I am a very skilled idiot.

Did a second test, and required heavy breaking, and barely stopped in time...

I guess I know how to fly my own plane :D

Your post is WRONG.

MD-90 not MD-10 :/

@jmav16 I put recommendations on the board for a reason. And That reason is safety. I want there to be enough room for everyone to land and have everyone still be on the runway. The KC-137R just dose not make the cut. Its too big for the tour to end there safely. I am now starting to sound like that guy on the granger commercials. Safety, Safety, Safety. Also, we may be departing a military base but we will be landing in the bush, so bring a sleeping bag! (and a tent if you have one, as well as flare gun, or a 12 gauge for defense, unless the base lends us a couple guns for self defense) And see you in three weeks! :D

The polar bears!
Gotta watch out for the bears. You can't run and you can't hide if one takes a fancy to you.
Although, generally, a high caliber rifle is preferred to a shotty.

Always have a shotty in the back seat! Or in this case, the overhead compartment/in cabin storage, easily accessible from the outside.
