    To keep it simple, pushing the knob means you are giving the airbus control over the parameters[Managed mode]
    and pulling the knob means you're taking control away from it.

    So for eg:- LNAV button in boeing is equivalent to pushing the heading knob (managed mode)

That is wrong, sorry.

The A/THR in the Airbus' doesn't disconnect until the throttles are idled.

No, it won't. This is coming from the A320 FCOM, and CBT. It shuts off on IDLING the throttles. It will shout at you when you leave the CLB detent, but that is not implemented yet, all you get in my version is a flashing LVR CLB on the PFD. The A/THR stays engaged, but now limited to the thrust that the levers are at.

Great, that did the trick. I can now get SPEED from that mode selector lever, and easy enough switch between A/T on and off. Who would have thought that a FD would prevent A/T?

Now, as said before the FBW point-and-shoot logic seems to behave as Airbus advertises. Yet i did not find the protections yet.
- The plane stops rolling only at some 80 degrees. I would have expected a number of some 30 degrees.
- Stall protection does not happen when i throw the nose up to 30 degrees. With A/T on it just keeps losing speed until stall.

It does not prevent A/THR. Because the mode is OP CLB (or OP DES), the plane is using speed by pitch, and is using fixed thrust limits. (CLB or IDLE limits). You could have also pushed the V/S knob in, or pull it out, and the A/THR would have gone to SPEED/MACH also.

I am not sure whether that is a PFD animation error (texrotate is stupid, I will be redoing the PFD in Canvas sometime), or what the deal is, but it does actually stop at 67deg, and will roll back to 33 when the stick is released past half way.

Stall protection is not modelled yet, because the FDM Lift/Alpha is not quite done yet. Also, I am still looking for more info in the FCOM about how exactly it engages/works.

Ow well, 80 degrees was just an estimate. It could have been 67 deg. I would have expected at least some sort of aural alarm after 33 deg, like "Bank angle!". Rollback to 33 deg did occur when i rolled with max stick input. But not when i rolled with less stick input to 67 deg.

Stall protection is based on angle of attack. In my test: The pitch is constant at 30 deg with engines blaring at full. While the speed decreases, the angle of attack increases. At a max angle of attack to stay in the air, the FBW will intervene by keeping that max angle of attack. Effectively decreasing pitch with the elevators, regardless of pilot input. Pilot inputs for more angle of attack are neglected. Inputs for less angle of attack are honoured.

@KL-666, the service ceiling of the A320 family is 39100 or 41000 feet depending on the model...

A plane goes as high as it goes, depending on how it is modeled. In fg and in reality. If a fg plane is not modeled like it's real counter part, then it simply is not the same plane. Limiting yourself to the real planes altitudes on purpose, does not make the fg plane any better modeled.

Yes, because its not modelled yet. It will, however, not exceed the pitch envelope. +30 to -15.

Well, it can climb higher than the service ceiling... While very slowly, it will climb higher. I officially test up to 43000ft.
