TerraSync and Gates in FG 2016

As per the title, neither starting at the gate nor terrasync is functioning at all in the 2016 versions of FG. I think I saw IAHM-COL talking about an alternate TerraSync server or something.

Can someone shed some light on this?

1. Yes, Terrasync is troubled.
2. No. I don't have alternate terrasync servers. That requires the ability of establishing an HTTP server to host almost 300GB of data storage, and a rather big bandwith. The market goes to about $3000/yr. So that's beyond talk, at this point.

3. You can use terraGIT which allows you to download the content to your hard-drive and avoid having terrasync problems.
4. terraGIT brings several new improvements/changes over default terrasync too.
5. You can get any part of the world you want (by 10x10 degree tiles) or the complete thing if you have the hard-drive to locally store that.
5. But it requires to be fetched using a git software.
