It's time to Pin the Belief on the Agnostic.

Postby LesterBoffo » Thu Nov 19, 2015 11:04 pm

Here's your chance to apply your best dogmatic application of intellect. Try and pin my belief system down.

Bring your best game, I'll not accept lame appeals to logical fallacies, regurgitated Pascal's Wagers, claims that I'm an undecided Atheist, or Geocaching with a morality compass.

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Oh, I see....
Hmm...
Is it really wise to start another mad topic?

Well, anyway, I tell you one thing.
I am absolutely certain in my mind that there is a God. And I believe that he is allpowerful, and created the Universe by his word. And I believe that he sent His Son for me.

Quoting from Adamson:
Much of life may seem uncertain, but look at what we can count on day after day: gravity remains consistent, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours, and the speed of light doesn't change -- on earth or in galaxies far from us.

existence of GodHow is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable?

"The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This astonishment springs from the recognition that the universe doesn't have to behave this way. It is easy to imagine a universe in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant, or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence."

Lester what on Earth do you mean by a belief system? One believes, or one doesn't.
Thanks, Adam

Lego this is no time for Religious heroics. Truth must be revealed by logic, by reason, by though, by observation; God is there to be seen, if only man will hmble himself enough to admit his error in science. The above won't get them closer

How very binary of you. There could possibly be a third way? Agnostic's have long countered binary thinking that you have to either believe or not.

I used to, now I'm not so certain, in fact pretty doubtful about a universe that has a 'maker' or purpose for the chosen 'crown of creation' seeing how the 'crown' seems to think his activities and interrelations don't have equals representative in other faiths or non-faiths, and these people can be treated as less than human.

So you're calling my postings 'mad'? Why, because they differ from yours?

Please define.. What other topic was 'mad' that I posted?

Don't mind the signature, it has it's purpose for those it was meant for, they know who they are.

I apologize. I included my own. There are no other mad posts, beside my own. I apologize.
