Free Flight, Free Speech

Do me a favour ... look at all the strange flight paths, we have on our computers. And this article is quite old and nothing more came out of it. So, no offence, but there is usually a lot rumour in an investigation like this. If they would have actually the suspicion he used this flight path intentionally, it would have made the area along a primary search area and I can't see anything like that.

Yes, sure, it is interesting. However, it doesn't seem, there was any follow up on it. I mean, logically, if he had this flight plan with a 777 to a remote island X (which one is not mentioned in the article), the logical thing would be to check, could he have reached it and if, look there. Nobody did that, the whole story died in obscurity again.

I think the media tend to drop news like this or recycle old news every once in a while on a slow news day just to pick up views.

The official investigation had the Captain and FO on the same suspicion level.


BTW, on an AirAsia flight recently, I bought a book Life in the Skies written by long time pilot Captain Lim for Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia. In the book, which make for good casual reading, he wrote that he doesn't allow passengers into the cockpit to have a look, a "rule that was put into place after 911", which upset a lot of aviation geeks on his flights.

Now, the interesting thing here of course, is that the FO for MH370 had previously allowed girls into their cockpit, very obviously not matching what Captain Lim had mentioned (he wrote the book in 2013 I think, before MH370). This complicated the investigation and had made the list of suspects far longer than if the airline had a strict rule put into place / the pilots enforced this rule as Captain Lim did.

The point is, he maybe thought, girls were hapless, all terrorists we hear are usually male, but actually there had been a lot of female suicide bombers lately. So, why not a female hijacker, it happened before.

Hey, I just crashed a 727-230 at full speed into the ground (and the JSBSIM ground bounce went crazy, I jumped to 1000 feet and fell spinning!). Does that make me a suspect if I fly on a 727-230 which mysteriously dissapeared?
