Thanks for your words in the other forum Swamp

A supporting perspective that looks like an island in an ocean of complascense with the bickering and stopping against nascent ideas of cooperation demonstrated by Thorsten, Curtis and Co.

I can only tell it like it is @IAHM-COL, and I tend to just do it. Its clear now why people seek somewhere other than that forum, whether it be here, Discord, Mumble, FGUK or some other place.

Talking to your dad seems to me to be a very good first step.

Let me explain again I'm not upset with the ban over on FG forum.

I made a choice to post what I wrote with the understanding that it could be used against me by people if they so chose. The opurtunity was seezed on and taken, that's their choice. But let's understand that Curt and the moderators were waiting poised for any opurtunity that I might give them. Talk by them of wanting to bury the hatchet and being friends is simply disengenuous, when in fact they're just waiting with the axe poised for the chop.

I am fed up with the attitude shown by those 'jaded' individuals that have for years now through cleverly worded posts shut down conversations, hijacked them or steered them into flame wars. The conclussion I've come to over the years of going up against them is that I can't change their attitude.

All too often these 'jaded' individuals cite not having any additional power than any other user and that it's up to the newbie to 'stick to their guns' or 'show the old lags'. Refusing to acknowledge that these negative posts influence others into not coming forward and helping or de-motivate the newbie so much that he/she walks away.

If a newbie does come with a new idea / techneque it's never greated with optomism by these 'old lags'. the nub of the idea is never allowed to grow, to attract others with positive input but instead it's challenged right from the start with just why it shouldn't be allowed anywhere near FG. If the person persists with talking about this idea on the forum or mailing list he's not championed as a person who's going up against the 'old lags' but is instead labeled a troll who engages in flamewars having been told over and over again why his idea is just so bad.

We've seen this over and over again... and it's sad.

I personally have NEVER been treated by these 'jaded' individuals as an equal, but instead even after years of flight modeling been expected to follow their lead, to do as they say, to 'not rock the boat' to do it 'the FG way'. Thorsten has on many occassion derided any abilities I have, my understanding of physics or maths and revels in any work in progress I publish, taking every oppurtunity to rip into it. I'm fed up of being 'looked down on' on the FG forum when all I was after was to be treated as an equal and enter into conversation/debates about my hobby with my fellow peers.

I have to say that I often run into individuals either here or discord that hold my reputation against me. Throwing it into my face at the slightest whiff of any counter opinion to theirs. Even on this topic we've seen wecsje call my opinion B.S. yet when I respond with similair language to him he calls for me to 'watch my mouth' as if it's ok for him to use profanity but not for me. In the past on this very forum I was repromanded for replying to a 16 year old using the same language as he was using to me and on discord this individual uses this language more than any other person.

I think it's this realisation that even us 'lower classes' treat each other with such dis-respect that has saddened me the most. The majority of the 'lower class developer' on FG forum are sheep that follow blindly the preachings of these 'jaded' individuals. I did some work on the Cub, There was a topic about it on the FG forum yet Thorsten quickly turned that into a flame fest when I tried to explain how the elevator could be modeled differently and sent this work to it's 'owner'. for him and his team to evaluate. No feedback other than silence was given, no chance to develop further (if needed), how respectfull is that ?

But if I'm brutally honest what upsets me the most is that these sheep that wont say an objectional word in oposition to these 'old lags' in case of the repurcusions act like a pack of hyenas when it comes to giving it 'what for' when given the signal by Thorsten, Bugman, Curt etc.... These people should be ashamed of themselves.

And the act of pm'ing Curt with an opinion of how an individual acted on a discord server, such that he's instantly banned by Curt from the FG forum before breaking any rules there is shameful. I don't care how justifiable the ban was from the discord server it doesn't warrant stalking the individual around the internet 'telling tales' about them.

Excuse me, but I am not 16. I also think, whatever age they have, users should be treated the same way, with respect on both sides. Second, you are not even on the community discord, so I am not sure where you found me there?

I don't see any post by this user.

@bomber

He did go into the wrong on the forums aswell, again, he made some harsh posts on some threads. And also made a post about a new forum that he made, where the only thing visible was messages about how bad some FG members were. The only thing I did was confirm it was also the guy from discord, as he signed one of the posts on his "forum" with his full name, the same he used on discord. And then not even the fact that he wrote the same aswell.

I've modified my post to remove any ambiguity

So you're saying that calling what I've posted bull shit is a sign of respect ?

I said "BS" once, and only after I tried to explain you three times that you were wrong, but you were so busy with yourself that you forgot to take a look at the facts. If you want me to apologize for it, fine, but if you would be smart you would keep your language clean, as it puts you in a better light, and makes you the "nice" person.

C.

Ps: I am sorry that I called your message BS, even tho I am right, I'll call it fake news next time!
