Family news from KB7.

Postby KB7 » Wed Dec 28, 2016 6:56 am

Good evening/morning, all. Following is dramatic, and there is no way to soften it. It is true.

As some knew, I did travel to Washington state to be with my family during Christmas.
The part I hadn't revealed: I came not just for Christmas (which was already planned,) but also because my mom had a very aggressive recurrence of cancer. She was placed, somewhat suddenly, into hospice care on Friday. I arrived on Saturday. We had a grand family Christmas together.

She died this morning. I am well comforted in faith and with family present.
And I was also comforted this evening by getting to act as controller at KLAS, show my nephew a bit of FG and OR as he was showing his favorite game apps.... and we shared memories of my mother and laughter as well as tears.

I will have scattered availability on FG as we plan the service and handle other details, but I remain here for another 8 days. Will probably have very scattershot availability until after her funeral (date TBD.) But I'll be around and about and doing the things I love, in part because she'd want it that way.
Primarily props / twins and small business/personal jets. IRL home airport KBMI, FG homes KLAS / KXTA.
Favorites: Cessna 421 "Golden Eagle," Twin Otter, BAe-125. A plane isn't my plane until I've modded the cockpit to the way I like it.

Hi KB7,

No matter how much you may expect something to happen, loosing someone so close is always horrible. I wish you strength and all the best.

Kind regards, Vincent

Dear friend KB7, I share in your grief, remembering the last Christmas I spent with my mother just a short four years ago. No words can truly suffice to soften the burden that death places upon us. But as I told my patients, as you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, if you hold onto your faith with one hand and to your loved ones with your other hand, you will not lose your way.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers,

Thank you all so very much for your kind words. They help so very much during this time! I wish I could reply individually at the moment.... but please know they are appreciated.
