OSM Data

I just traced some roads, buildings, and rivers in OSM formy town.
Man, it is so cool to do it. It is fun!

Only thing is, will this be available today in the scenery?

That is, could I download the OMS roads and OSM river shapefiles to make scenery, and then use OSM2CITY to make the buildings?

Or is it like TerraSync, where you have to wait for years?

unless you build a OSM2City package, you will need to wait (and so far OSM is not standard in FG, anyways, so: wait for indetermined)

(and by the way: how is this "unrelated nonsense"? Are you selecting a random place to post? I will relocate this to Scenery development -- but alternatively -- depending on where you wanted this to go, it could be categorized within the "core development" whining. )

On a second topic. Do you persist in building OSM Roads? I just don't see the applicability of this, furthermore when they are of no other use but barely (and arguably) aesthetic. But they come with a performance hit that is just wild. In my opinion, OSM2City should be Roadless. Look for a nascar simulator for the other purpose :P

Oops... did not know there was a difference between OSM2ROAD and OSM road shapefiles.
Okay!

But what if I build a custom scenery with OSM shapefiles for river, as well as the ordinary?
Okay!
:)
If I manage to get 2CITY working, I will test on the FEW buildings round my town....

They do? With quite a large area -- urban too, round Belfast -- including motorways and residential areas -- I get excellent performance.
