Re: Hello you bad bad people!!

This might be of interest: While differing opinions are fine, facts are facts. Continual disagreement with facts is considered trolling. While constructive criticism of the FlightGear project is OK, denigrating the project is not. On the other hand, Thorsten could follow this advice a bit more, I th...

Re: ET302 crash taking off

Oh wow - according to an article I read (sorry, can't find the link again), the answer is in a procedure that was in the manual years ago for the -200 but was since removed. The combination of full aft column and almost full nose down trim will result in extreme load on the jackscrew preventing it f...

Re: ET302 crash taking off

Is the manual trim not connected by hydraulics? Or doesit have artificial feel? :?

Sounds like electric trim was re-enabled since manual trim didn't work either allowing MCAS to operate :(

Re: ET302 crash taking off

Crucial question - why did manual trimming not work? The aircraft was flying stably (but not enough pitch authority to pull the nose up into a climb) up till the last MCAS command that should not have happened at which point it defeated the pilots. Is manual trim with the wheel disabled as well as e...

Re: ET302 crash taking off

So according to the preliminary report the crew did everything right... they cut out trim and flew manually. http://www.ecaa.gov.et/documents/20435/0/Preliminary+Report+B737-800MAX+%2C%28ET-AVJ%29.pdf/4c65422d-5e4f-4689-9c58-d7af1ee17f3e The question is, why was there an electric trim command that c...

Re: Lion Air: How could a brand new plane crash?

So apparently AOA disagree light is now standard and MCAS will not operate if they disagree. This should have been done before it first flew - but better late than never? Boeing should stop playing with what they know little about - or rather should know something about since they did a good job wit...

Re: ET302 crash taking off

How many AoA sensors has madmax ? I hope, minimal 2. Why MCAS software not doing cross check of outputs from sensors and when detect too much differences will not disable itsef with strong aural warnings ? Nope - it just used either left or right (alternating between each flight). It did not even c...
